1. Colour:

2. Glazing:
    Remember, when handling any type of glass the upmost care must be taken as it is extremely fragile when not in situ. It is also advised that safety gloves and goggles are worn.

  • Horticultural glass
    Included in main price. Available in 3mm thick overlapping glass sheets.
     
  • Toughened safety glass
    In the event of a breakage, the glass granulates removing any danger of injury. Elite only use Grade A toughened glass to EN 12150 which is primarily in full length sheets providing a neater finish, especially with bar capping, and removes any overlapping glass where algae and moss can often be a problem.

  • Polycarbonate
    UVI treated 6mm thick, twin wall with silvered edges and, like the toughened safety glass, it comes in full sheets and is a great option where children and pets are concerned.

3. Bar Capping:
    Removing the need for glazing clips the Bar Capping provides stronger hold for your glazing, and also adds a decorative finish to any Greenhouse.

    The rubber fin also adds a better water seal between the frame and glass. Capping is used in addition to wire clips so in effect it will add double protection which is ideal in more exposed areas. The capping is simply tapped into position where the unique serrated peg engages with the aluminium bar, which as you can see, does not leave any unsightly screw heads showing like some other manufacturers. Available in to match all frame colours.     Only available with Toughened and Polycarbonate Glazing

4. Crestings and Finials
    Originally intended to create an individual and yet professional decorative finish to your greenhouse, it has been noted by many a grower that they can now double up as a deterrent against cats and birds gaining access to the greenhouse roof.

5. Base
    It is not advised to erect your greenhouse directly onto the ground, for best results it needs to be erected onto a firm base. This can be a brick base, normally 2 or 3 layers of bricks. Alternatively, and most commonly it can be erected on top of a preformed aluminium base. This tends to be easier and more economical. Some of our greenhouses come with integral bases as standard; others provide the base as an option. If you are in any doubt please contact us for further advice.

9. Ventilation Accessories:
    Depending upon your growing intentions, ventilation is a major player in a successful greenhouse experience. A greenhouse and its contents need the ability to breathe, not only for the influx of oxygen for plants to grow and develop, but also to draw in cool air to assist in temperature control.

    Automation of both roof and louvre vents are an excellent and hugely popular choice with customers. Offering peace of mind when you are out at work or on holiday, ventilation is provided automatically via a solar powered wax cylinder which opens or closes the vent when the temperature inside the greenhouse reaches a certain level.
